Unique Architectural Surfing Project on the Atlantic Coast

The Challenge: To provide an inspirational space for the surfing community, adjacent to the Sligo coastline, on the stunning west coast of Ireland.

The paving supplied had to be modern, high end, and compliment the cutting-edge design of the school building.

80mm Milan - Silver and Midnight - Surfschool - Strandhill
The Solution

Roadstone supplied 300m2 of Milan Paving in 2 colours (silver granite and midnight). The Milan Paving was laid by the contractor in a bespoke pattern using 70% silver granite colour and 30% midnight colour.

The product comes in 2 lengths (360x120x80mm and 480x120x80mm) with the first brick in each row being cut to provide a true random look. Both colours were also used as a border to compliment the look of the paved area.

The Milan Paving was laid on 40mm of paving grit over 200mm of well compacted clause 804 stone. Roadstone’s (Kiln Dry) Silver Sand was brushed into the joints. The Milan Paving was used with 30m of Roadstone Castlestone Kerb and Tactile Paving Slabs (Buff).
