Design of Paving provides ease of access for sheltered housing development

The Challenge To provide a robust and aesthetically pleasing paving that allows ease of access to the accommodation for elderly people the product would have to:

  • Ensure a clean safe surface.
  • Provide an attractive streetscape for this community.
  • Be suitable for wheelchair access from vehicles into the accommodation.
  • Be able to accommodate vehicular traffic.
The Solution

Roadstone supplied 900 m² of 80mm Charcoal Blend Aqua Thomond Paving and 200 m² of 80mm Natural Aqua Thomond Paving for the main roadways of the housing development.

Roadstone also provided 950 m² of 60mm Limestone Blend Aqua Thomond Paving for around the house entrances and 24m² of 80mm Aqua Verona Natural for delineation of the parking areas. 25 tonnes of brush in grit was also supplied to joint the paving. All materials were supplied from Roadstone’s paving plant in Gooig.

The Result

The paving provided a permeable and durable paving product that can accommodate pedestrian and vehicular traffic. The paved area does not contain impediments for ease of access.

Ensure that accurate quantities are received in order that paving can be delivered on site as needed.

Roadstone Technical staff must engage with the client at an early stage of the project to that products requested are fit for purpose.

Always ensure that the client has viewed and visited a similar project and is happy with the product to be supplied.
